Q: Tell us briefly about yourself
I was born and raised in Lamphun, Thailand and moved to Sudbury in August 2019 where I live with my husband Thomas, also a photographer, and son Theo.
As a child I have always had a keen interest in photography, and as an adult have had many amazing opportunities to work with wonderful people.
Q: How long have you been a photographer?
I started to work seriously as a photographer in 2008 when working for a newspaper and magazine. I won my first award when photographing ลิเก (Tradition Thai Soap Opera) and from that point on I was up and running.
Q: How did you get into photography?
My father was my inspiration in photography. He is an ‘extreme’ photography hobbyist and from a young age he always let me play with his cameras and taught me to take photos of flowers and landscapes.
The real turning point came in 2008 when I was asked to take pictures for a local newspaper. It quickly went from a taking a few photos to snapping pics at international events, photographing architectural buildings and sporting events. In 2010 I then decided to become a freelance photographer and purchased my first professional level camera.
Since then I have won prizes in international photography competitions and had work published on BBC, CNN, and other international newspapers and magazines, including gossip / celebrity magazines like HELLO! Thailand. I have even had the privilege of being a guest photographer for 3 seasons on Temptation Island Romania.
Photography became my main interest, and I began to focus on professional techniques, influences and creative ideas.
In 2012 we opened our first studio, Phamai Photography Studio, located in Hua Hin, Thailand and in 2020 opened our studio in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Q: Tell us more about Phamai Photography Studio!
We are very lucky to have a beautiful studio space in Greater Sudbury area and we shoot headshots, model portfolios, pre-wedding photographs, boudoir and some product shots. Our work is not limited to just the studio we also photograph weddings, graduation shoots, family photo sessions and real estate.
In certain cases we do destination weddings with clients. Our destination weddings have brought us to Holland, Switzerland and Thailand. You can always just drop me a message if you are considering a destination wedding.
